FGM Criminalization

Criminalizing female genital mutilation (FGM) is a sensitive issue addressed by the "Waai" program through educating the community about the physical and psychological harms of this practice. Efforts include organizing awareness campaigns in local communities, providing support to affected girls and families, and enforcing laws that criminalize FGM. The Ministry of Social Solidarity, in cooperation with relevant organizations, raises awareness about the importance of protecting girls from this harmful practice and promoting their health and bodily rights, contributing to achieving justice and equality and improving the quality of life for girls. Sameh Samir collaborated with the Ministry and donor institutions like the European Union and UNDP to produce visual content, including cartoons, books, animated films, and various publications, to support these efforts.
