Combating Child Marriage
Combating child marriage aims to protect girls from the health and social risks associated with early marriage. The "Waai" program focuses on educating families about the dangers of child marriage and its negative impact on the health, education, and future of girls. Efforts include organizing awareness campaigns in local communities, providing support for girls to complete their education, and enforcing laws that prevent child marriage. The Ministry of Social Solidarity, in collaboration with relevant authorities and civil society organizations, provides a safe environment for girls that allows them to grow and develop healthily and stably, contributing to building a better future for all. Sameh Samir collaborated with the Ministry and donor institutions like the European Union and UNDP to produce visual content, including cartoons, books, animated films, and various publications, to support these efforts.
Against Child Marriage Campaign
The video launching the campaign "Her Marriage Before the Age of 18 Wastes Her Life" is under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Solidarity of Egypt. According to the Egyptian constitution and law, the age of 18 is the legal definition of childhood. Therefore, it is forbidden to document the marriage contract before reaching the age of 18 for both males and females.
