Combating Drug and Substance Abuse

Combating drug and substance abuse is a critical issue addressed by the "Waai" program through raising awareness among youth and the community about the dangers of drug abuse and its negative impact on health and social and economic life. Efforts include organizing workshops and awareness campaigns in schools and universities, providing support for addiction treatment through specialized centers, and offering family support to educate their children about the dangers of drugs and promote healthy behaviors. The Ministry of Social Solidarity, in cooperation with relevant authorities, enforces laws that prevent drug trafficking and provides necessary care for recovering addicts, contributing to building a healthy and drug-free society. Sameh Samir collaborated with the Ministry and donor institutions like the European Union and UNDP to produce visual content, including cartoons, books, animated films, and various publications, to support these efforts.
